Do You Know What's Stopping Your Strategic Plans From Becoming A Reality?
Over my 40 year career, I have become increasingly preoccupied with understanding the ‘big picture” - that complex interaction of plans, processes and, above all, people that come together to dictate the performance of the organisation that results.
My first conclusion - it seems obvious but many overlook it - is that whereas strategic planning is largely a cerebral exercise, strategy implementation - or bringing plans to reality - is all about people.
And when things don’t happen as the strategic planners intended, they blame the strategy implementers, whereas the seeds of failure were sown the moment the planners sat down to plan.
Uncover the barriers to strategy implementation ... and how to overcome them
I decided to log the barriers to strategy implementation and identified a list of 36.
13 relate to Planning
14 to Execution
6 to Monitoring, Measuring and Adapting
3 to Revising
I then related each barrier to a particular location on a complete operational model - The Wagon Wheel Way™ Operating System.
Tackling the barriers to execution - showing you where and why they occur and what to do about them - is what my work with you is all about, through strategic planning workshops, strategy implementation workshops or my numerous surveys.
In addition, in the Resource Centre, you will find upwards of 60 articles, each of which corresponds to a specific aspect of The Wagon Wheel’s construction, operation and maintenance.
